We're working on our show. Our show is called The Love Planet. We have a lot more work to do.
We're a bit stressed out.
We're a bit stressed out.
I find myself doing anything at all to avoid doing my work that needs to be done in the studio. I've had artists' block once before so I know the telltale warning signs to look for. When I started scouring our spoons with Comet the other day I was mindful of what I was doing (or rather, not doing).
I get a little hocus pocus-y about making art. I try as hard as I can to sense the day's atmosphere and overall vibe. I get absolutely superstitious. If the sky and weather aren't just right then just forget it. And, too, will I be a strong enough person emotionally that day to survive having a sucky day in the studio? One must be of strong mind to venture out there- especially with a bunch of unfinished and possibly mediocre canvases staring you down
ready to kick ass and take names.

So rather than work on my solo stuff I hung out with Babba. We're doing a few collaborations together. That can be a blessing and a curse. We have very different ideas about making art. We're either riffing off of ideas together like two maniac beat poets who drank too much coffee and chicory or we're bickering like an old married couple . We've worked together on some sculptures several years ago and it was really fun (see top tab of our collaborations) so we know it can be done.
And of course, our home is our ultimate collaboration.

Are these pictures going to be in your show? They're GORGEOUS!
Ha! Irony never has fit us so I won't even go there. HOWEVER, after thinking over our conversation I wanted to get back with you and say:
I think you both need to get "out* of*mind." Instead of "full*of*it!"
Luv and Hugs~you will get through this, you always do. And with art that you should both be proud of.
I totally want to steal that bathtub, put the same magnets in it, and take the exact same picture.
Wait, wait, wait....I woke up last night thinking...SCOURING YOUR SPOONS?? Who has time for that?! You really are procrastinating :)
I totally understand....really do. ;)
Thank you for your comment on the "are we rich?" post. I was really nervous about it, precisely because it is so important and uncomfortable. Thank you for your insight and sharing your experience.
For some reason I hit publish on your comment and it rejected it. Silly blogger. Anyway, I copied and pasted it from my email and posted it myself. But I wanted you to know I certainly didn't reject it and really genuinely appreciate your insights! Thanks blog friend!
